VIVALDI The Four Seasons
Experience one of the most treasured jewels of the Baroque period in an intimate candlelit setting performed by one of the most significant artists of her generation, violinist Simone Porter, an artist of impassioned energy, interpretive integrity, and vibrant communication. The work portrays a year filled with hope, flowering growth, flourishing abundance, and the quiet gathering of energy for tomorrow. Singing birds, murmuring streams, barking dogs, drunken country dancers, and an intense thunderstorm can all be heard in Vivaldi’s vivid masterpiece. The candlelit concert also features the remarkable Viano String Quartet, as well as creative innovator, renowned composer and double bassist, Evan Premo, and marks the return to Bay Chamber of esteemed harpsichordist and Baroque music scholar, John McKean.
