W4RP Trio is not your typical piano trio. Described as a “talented group that exemplifies the genre-obliterating direction of contemporary classical music” (Free Times), the ensemble moves freely between chamber music, jazz, rock, hip-hop, improvisation, and original work. Juilliard-trained classical musicians collaborate with artists steeped in jazz and rock traditions, creating performances in which musical categories are starting points rather than boundaries. For this Midday Music concert, expect virtuosity, groove, improvisation, and the kind of musical conversation that can move from a concert hall to a club without changing its sense of purpose.
