Anne McKee

Violin

Anne McKee is a violinist and Suzuki instructor based in central Maine. She holds a Master of Music degree from Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College. She has received Suzuki method training from Terry Durbin, Laurie Scott, Ann Montzka-Smelser, and Mark Mutter, as well as string pedagogy training from Rictor Noren. In addition to her teaching at Bay Chamber, Anne serves as assistant artistic director of Pineland Suzuki School and directs Capital Strings, an advanced student ensemble. She is also on faculty at New England Suzuki Institute in the summer.

Anne maintains an active performance schedule as a member of the Bangor Symphony, principal second violinist of Colby Symphony, and concertmaster of Augusta Symphony. She also plays with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and Opera Maine. Especially passionate about chamber music, Anne enjoys concertizing with colleagues around New England - including collaborations with Music From Salem, Halcyon Quartet, and Vibrant Matter Collective - and recently co-founded Trio Narae, a piano trio based in Maine and Boston. Her principal teachers include Betsy Kobayashi, Lydia Forbes, Eva Gruesser, and Katie Lansdale. She has also taken masterclasses with Sergiu Schwartz, Alexi Kenney, Grigory Kalinovsky, and Joseph Lin, as well with the Ying, Jupiter, Lydian, and Ariel quartets.
