Maho Hisakawa

Flute

Maho recently completed a B.M. in Flute Performance from the University of Maine and loves working with flute students of all ages and levels. Based in Camden, she has been teaching privately since 2018 and is trained to teach Suzuki Flute Unit 1. She also teaches at Elm City Community Music School, plays with Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony as a mentor, and has played with Colby Symphony Orchestra and University of Maine Orchestra. In 2016, she founded Windfern Ensemble and values her collaboration with community musicians for concerts, weddings, and other events. Maho is grateful for the myriad of learning opportunities from observing her two daughters' lessons over the last 11 years at Bay Chamber Music School. She is a full-time Kindergarten Teacher at Ashwood Waldorf School and is currently a student at Sunbridge Institute’s Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training. Previously, she earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Penn State University and spent time farming, mothering, and working various jobs. She loves to trail-run, hike big mountains, walk with friends, and enjoy leisurely family dinners in her free time.
