Guitarist Bill Barnes brings a lifetime of musical experience to Hammer Hall, with a style praised by Atlantic News for its “simplicity, power and acoustic integrity.” His career began in the late 1960s touring with soul singer Arthur Conley, and has since crossed paths with an extraordinary range of artists, from Eddie Floyd, The Marvelettes, Rufus Thomas and Gary U.S. Bonds to jazz musicians Michael Henderson and Gabrielle Goodman. Joined by bassist Spike Hyssong and drummer Chris Rogers, Barnes brings that wide musical history into an intimate trio setting - music grounded in groove, melody, and the easy communication of musicians who know how to listen to one another. ‍
