J.S. BACH The Goldberg Variations

With adaptations on a simple aria that span tragedy to jubilation, Bach’s Goldberg Variations were designed by the composer to refresh listeners’ spirits. Bach’s greatest keyboard work, the variations plot a journey through space and time, and have proved a fascinating challenge to musicians for the best part of a century. 

Join us for this full performance of the work by the startlingly talented pianist, Rachel Breen, a top prizewinner at Bösendorfer International Competition (2023), Honens International Piano Competition (2022), Concorso Internazionale Palma D’Oro (2022), and the Beethoven International Competition in Vienna (2021) among many others. Rachel is featured in the podcast 30 Bach alongside Jeremy Denk, Angela Hewitt, Tim Page, and Simone Dinnerstein in a discussion and performance of Bach’s immortal Goldberg Variations.
