Well-known to Mid-Coast audiences from their extensive performances, and educational work through Bay Chamber Music School, Halcyon is a string quartet and a collective of socially engaged musicians. Their Midday Music performance is loosely inspired by the natural world. It features Mozart’s String Quartet No. 21 in D Major, K. 575 paired with Richter's On the Nature of Daylight, the 4th movement of Caroline Shaw's The Evergreen entitled Root, El Grillo by Josquin des Prez, and a set of Danish folk tunes.
