Devoted to performing music from the classical and contemporary repertoire while exploring and arranging music from around the world, Toomai String Quintet won the 92nd St. Y’s Music Unlocked! Competition. They have performed and recorded extensively and their Bay Chamber café concert features music from their Passos Brasileiros (Brazilian Steps) album by Brazilian composers including Heitor Villa Lobos, Dona Ivone Lara "the queen of Samba", Gilberto Gil, and more. 

They will be joined by much-loved baritone Jesse Blumberg, who has been featured on nearly thirty commercial recordings, including the 2015 Grammy-winning and 2019 Grammy-nominated Charpentier Chamber Operas with Boston Early Music Festival. This is an opportunity to hear Jesse in an entirely new musical context!
